Short Course on Carbohydrate Counting

 

Remotely support your patients with their diabetes management through diabetes education.

 

A short three hour carbohydrate course delivered over two sessions, designed for adults with diabetes on flexible insulin therapy. 

We provide a one hour training session for dietitians in the UK & Ireland, to enable you to deliver this carbohydrate counting course for your patients. 

Roche Diabetes Care UK & Ireland has designed, in partnership with dietitians, a short 3-hour carbohydrate counting course for adults with diabetes on flexible insulin therapy to be delivered by a registered dietitian.

The course can be delivered face-to-face as well as virtually, providing remote educational support for people living with diabetes.

This course is accessible, interactive and designed to prompt plenty of discussion. It covers identifying carbohydrate-containing foods, different methods of calculating the carbohydrate value, and also includes information about snacks, exercise, hypo treatment and more.

Supporting course materials are provided, these include: Calculator; Carbs & Cals Flashcards; Example Food Labels; Food Picture Cards; QISMET Lesson Plan; QISMET Workbook and QISMET Reference Tables.

Roche Diabetes Care will provide this training to dietitians, enabling you to deliver the 3 hour carbohydrate course to people living with diabetes. Following the training, you can order course materials, free of charge. These include:
